Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Gangdong & Hanam branch (Branch Manager: Kyeongbok Goh) held its 'Love Life, Give Blood' campaign in a parking lot outside Chambit Church, Gamil Dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi Do province on 21st April.
According to the Blood Management Agency of the Korean Red Cross, there was less than the optimal five-day storage supply for all blood types. In particular, blood type O has fallen below the advised three-day level and is in a state of ‘warning’.
In connection with this, Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Gangdong and Hanam branch have been hosting a blood-giving campaign twice a year to stabilize blood supply levels and put love for one's neighbor into practice.
Seungah Yoo, who joined the campaign, said, “I am donating my blood to spread the love of God. Today is my 25th blood donation. I want to reach the 30th this year and receive the silver award given to blood donors.”
Seungmin Han said, “I joined the event to participate in this life-saving work. I hope my blood will be donated to people in desperate need of receiving it.”
Jeongja Kim said, “Donating blood today won’t affect my daily life because my body will reproduce fresh blood after just a few days. I will continue joining in these events because it is meaningful to be able to save lives with 400cc.”
Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Kangdong & Hanam branch (Branch Manager: Kyeongbok Goh) held its 'Love Life, Give Blood' campaign in a parking lot outside Chambit Church, Gamil Dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi Do province on 21st April.
A Korean Red Cross official encouraged participation in the campaign, saying, “Blood can’t be artificially made and it has no replaceable substance. To maintain a five-day blood storage supply, consistent and regular donations from blood donors are necessary.”
The Gangdong and Hanam branch manager said, “The sky freely gives us light, rain and air. Likewise, we want to freely give others love. We don’t volunteer for show, and will continue to do so by providing practical aid to residents and local society.”
That day, 91 people participated in the campaign with 61 people donating blood cards. Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Gangdong and Hanam branch collected 1000 cards to donate to children's cancer wards.
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Volunteer Group has been carrying out various volunteering campaigns throughout Korea, such as ‘Pink Cloth Delivering Warmth' (Lunch box delivery campaign for the marginalized people in society), ‘Protect the green nature' (Environmental conservation campaign) and ‘Wall Painting stories with hope' (a campaign painting dilapidated murals into beautiful ones), and much more.
