백성들이 나가서 아람 사람의 진을 노략한지라 이에 고운 가루 한 스아에 한 세겔이 되고 보리 두 스아에 한 세겔이 되니 여호와의 말씀과 같이 되었고(열왕기하 7:16)

Explosive Increase of Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Zion Mission Center Students…”5 times more than last year, record high rate of registration”

The number of students at Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Bible study program reached 30,000 at the end of May, and the number enrolled to begin their studies stands at almost 150,000. The above photo was taken from an Open Bible Seminar hosted at Hwagok branch church in Seoul.

“150,000 people enrolled to begin their studies…main purpose is to resolve misunderstandings as they come without bias”

This year, the number of people who registered on the Bible study program of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Chairperson Mr. Man Hee Lee) peaked at a record high.

According to Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ ‘May 2019 Zion Mission Center Registration Status’ published in early June, the current number of students in Zion Mission Center is roughly 30,000 with 150,000 enrolled for study. The rate of registration from January-May 2019 is five-times higher than last year’s, which is a record high. This comes in drastic contrast to the established church which is showing a decrease in membership.

The Zion Mission Center is a free Bible-study institution operated by Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Students join Shincheonji Church of Jesus after completing its six-month curriculum.

Most students of the Zion Mission Center are registered as non-Christians, demonstrating the appeal of Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ evangelistic outreach to non-Christians.

There are various explanations for this year’s dramatic growth of Shincheonji Church of Jesus.

Firstly, investigations into allegations made by the established church about Shincheonji Church of Jesus have proven them false and slanderous, as has been published by the major press in Korea and the world. People can come to listen to the word taught at Shincheonji Church of Jesus without prejudice.

Moreover, the response by participants of Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Open Bible Seminar and Open House Day - which have been intensively carried out since the beginning of this year - shows their receptiveness of the clear Biblical teachings of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which explains the church’s dramatic growth.

One student of Zion Mission Center said: “I stopped going to church three years ago because the message of the Gospel was lost and became secular. I had been listening to sermons via Youtube and other social media networks when I came across the teachings of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. I enrolled on Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Zion Mission Center this year. I’m now learning the Bible from a new perspective as I finally learn the true word that I had never known before.”

As of the end of May, the number of registered students of Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Bible study program was recorded as 30,000, and the number of people enrolled for study is almost 150,000. The above photo was taken from the crowded Open Bible Seminar hosted at Andrew Tribe’s Training Institute in Busan.

Mr. Junghoon Kim, a former atheist, said: “I enrolled on the Zion Mission Center after participating in Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Open Bible Seminar. It was the first place that explained the existence of God and the role of religion throughout the Bible. I have recommended it to my neighbors, and to church-going acquaintances.”

Shincheonji Church of Jesus estimates the rate of growth to rapidly curve upwards in the second half of the year as the number of registered students and those enrolled for study through individual consultation shows a huge monthly increase.

In response, Shincheonji Church of Jesus has increased its resource capabilities from an average of 100 last year to over 200 this year, and has also doubled the number of its Zion Mission Center branches nationwide.

Furthermore, as of early May, the Zion Mission Center has introduced small-group online seminars for people unable to learn offline, attracting the attention of ‘Canaanite Christians’ (lapsed Christians who no longer go to church).

A representative of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said: “The Zion Mission Center has produced 20,000~30,000 graduates annually. It is forecast that, based on current trends, 100,000 students will graduate this year. This is possible because Shincheonji Church of Jesus has only been focusing on ‘Bible-centered teaching’ for the last 30 years.”
