With nationwide boycott of Japanese products in response to Abe government’s retaliatory economic  ‘I won’t go and won’t buy’ policy, Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Daejeon branch church also attracted attention by conducting their ‘Love for all Nations’ campaign on National Liberation Day.

On the 15th of August, Daejeon church (branch manager: Mr. Bang Sik Jang) of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairperson: Mr. Man Hee Lee; abbreviated as ‘Shincheonji Church’) conducted a campaign for citizens in celebration of the 74th Liberation Day in Rodeo Street, Tanbang quarter, Seo district, under the theme “If I were a free soldier living in today’s era, what would I do?”

With the participation of many Daejeon citizens, they wrote what they would do as an independence activist, including 'I would first study history', 'I would teach the correct history to my descendants and to the Japanese’, 'I would understand the meaning of the Korean flag and lead its hoisting', 'I would become a guardian of Dokdo ', ‘I would participate as an independence activist so as not to forget the trafficking of victims and abuse of comfort women.’

One Daejeon citizen said, “It provided a time for me to ask myself 'how should I act?’ in this present time, as I was reminded of the independence activists for National Liberation Day. As this year celebrates the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Movement, I will always keep in mind the noble sacrifices of my ancestors who sacrificed their lives.”

On that day, Shincheonji church’s Daejeon branch reflected on the true meaning of National Liberation Day by explaining the meaning of Independence and Taegeukgi, setting up a place to learn the spirit of independence activists in Daejeon∙Chungcheong areas, including Danjae(丹齋) Shin Chaeho, which Daejeon citizens showed their great interests in.
