Shincheonji Volunteers, overcoming religious barriers by giving hands
On the day of Buddha's birthday which was 22nd of May, Shincheonji Volunteers Gangneung branch visited Oryong Buddhist Temple in Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung province in order to help the special event.
Shincheonji Volunteers participated overcoming the religious barriers by communicating and volunteering. The purpose of volunteer work was to make peace and harmony.
Volunteer members participated in serving meals and bathing The Buddha.
On that day, one of female monk imitated outfit inspired by Shincheonji Volunteers' scarf. When watching, one of the other monk was making jokes saying "Wow, you've converted your religion." and made everybody laugh.
The chief monk emphasized on value of making relationship, saying "Shincheonji volunteers were much help. You are doing good work. We welcome you anytime. It was good to know each other and thankful to make good relationship. It was good and precious time. Let's help and associate with each other."
The person from Shincheonji volunteers said "I'm grateful to chief and female monks and other congregations welcoming us. Just like the tree of peace we've planted last time, religion should cooperate first and be on the front line when making peace.
Meanwhile, Shincheonji volunteers provide various volunteer works such as delivering side dishes to the senior citizen, drawing mural, hairdressing and giving various talents to the neglected and people who need help.
