[Biz-Focus] Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony Hosted ‘Zion Mission Center Class 110 Graduation Ceremony’
‘Zion Mission Center Class 110 Graduation Ceremony’ was hosted by Shincheonji Church of Jesus on 10th November. The total number of graduates was 103,764 and the lack of venue capacity for the full number meant that the graduation ceremony was also celebrated through live broadcast at Shincheonji Church of Jesus' Andrew Tribe Institute and Peter Tribe Headquarters. The graduation ceremony marks graduates' official registration as congregation members of the church after having completed a 6~7 month Bible study course at its Zion Mission Center, a Bible teaching institute.
The church's 100,000 graduates - educated within one year - are as adept as pastors in testifying the word…‘Miracle Scene’ uncovers religious truths without misconception or prejudice.

The total number of graduates was 103,764 and the lack of venue capacity for the full number meant that the graduation ceremony was also celebrated through live broadcast at Shincheonji Church of Jesus' Andrew Tribe Institute and Peter Tribe Headquarters. As Shincheonji Church of Jesus has produced such a high number of graduates within just 10 months, the church’s forecasted geometric growth is now said to have been established.

Chairman Man Hee Lee said, “Zion Mission Center’s Bible study course is the process of creating a new country, new nation and new family.”
At the graduation ceremony, Chairman Man Hee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “I hope you take today as time for you to think about who you are according to the Bible and whether you have been created according to God's promise in the Bible.”
Moreover, Chairman Lee re-emphasized the importance of the Word, saying, “The Bible study course at Zion Mission Center is the process of creating a new country, new nation and new family of God. The fulfillment of prophecy in the Book of Revelation can not be accomplished through man, but only by God when the time comes. We have to thank God and Jesus for the grace we have received to be graduating. We have to show love to all and perceive the Bible perfectly, even after graduating.”
The graduation ceremony marks the end of a journey when a graduate is officially registered into the church after having completed a 6-7 month Bible study course at Zion Mission Center, which is a free Bible teaching institute. One can graduate only after studying the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and completing basic, intermediate and advanced level curriculums with a final graduation exam. A representative of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “Although ‘completion to graduation’ is never easy, we can actually say that the number of members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus who can preach the gospel as well as pastors has increased by 100,000.”
This can be proven by graduates' evangelistic activity. Graduates of class 110 achieved a growth of 142% in evangelizing others. Now more than 200,000 people are enrolled onto Shincheonji Church of Jesus' Bible study course. Aaron Galland, who received an ‘Evangelism Award’ at the graduation ceremony, said, “During the Bible Study course, I’ve thought about and met people who I want to pass this word on to every day. Everyday was a series of joys evangelizing with God and Jesus.”
Another representative of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, "In contrast to Bible studies in the established church, which are mainly focused on moral teachings and Biblical history, Shincheonji Church of Jesus stresses the fulfillment of the promised prophecies of the Bible and checking their realities. This is creating a fundamental shift within the religious world. We have evangelized, taught the Bible and produced 100,000 graduates. This can not be achieved by man; only by God - it’s only possible because God is with us. As is promised in the Bible, a huge wave of change in the religious world has already begun and will become increasingly rapid.”
Calls for reassessment of Shincheonji Church of Jesus need to be carried out objectively having perceived the current situation.
During his congratulatory speech, Mr. Gyeongchan Son, former Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly member, said, “I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that a single denomination produced 100,000 graduates within one year. Given that the number of Christians in South Korea has been decreasing every year, this graduation ceremony is a miracle. There must now be change in the Republic of Korea. The religious world, press and government agencies must check for themselves what religious truth really is without bias or prejudice. They have to check Shincheonji Church of Jesus' religion and what words this church has as truth."
Pastor Dukheyon Kim (PhD Religion Philosophy), dean of the postgraduate school, Dongbang Culture University, said, “From now on, Shincheonji Church of Jesus will most certainly take the lead for religion in South Korea and globally. My wish is that today's graduates take a leading role in creating a new era and new history with the words of truth learned so far.”
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Church of Jesus that was established in 1984 began evangelizing people when it hosted its nationwide 'Book of Revelation Seminar' tour. It then opened its Zion Mission Center in 1990 to establish a system of gospel evangelism for the growth of the church.
67% of graduates were aged 20~30 and 41.7% are from the established church
Survey taken of 1000 graduates of Zion Mission Center Class 110
103,764 graduates who took part in ‘Zion Mission Center Class 110 Graduation Ceremony’ on November 10th are people who have finished a 6-month course at Zion Mission Center, which is the free Bible teaching institute of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Currently, there are 503 Zion Mission Center branches worldwide with 331 running domestically in South Korea and 172 overseas.
Today more than 200,000 people are enrolled on to Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Bible study course, which consists of 3~4 study days per week over a period of 6 months. A representative of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “The center teaches general Bible knowledge including how to read the Bible, history, moral teachings, prophecy and fulfilment - of which the latter forms the core of Christianity. From new Christians who have never read the Bible to religious leaders such as pastors, students are highly satisfied with the curriculum taught in centers.”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus carried out a 'satisfaction survey' on 1000 graduates of Zion Mission Center Class 110 at random. 97.6% responded ‘Satisfied’, with ‘Average’ scoring 2.4% and ‘Dissatisfied’ 0%. Almost all 100% of graduates responded that the center course increased their understanding of the Bible. In particular, most graduates (98.3%) answered ‘Yes’ to the question, ‘Would you recommend the Zion Mission Center to others?’
54.3% of graduates, the highest number, responded as having ‘No Religion’ before studying. 41.7% of graduates were Protestants, Catholics and lapsed churchgoers from the established church. Among them, 27.5% were Protestant, 4.4% Catholics and 9.8% lapsed churchgoers. In addition, Buddhists comprised of 3.5% and other religions 0.5%.
Most graduates were in their twenties (55%), then forties (15.3%), fifties (13%), thirties (11.8%) and over sixties (4.7%). A figure of 67% of young adults aged 20-30 is outstanding.
According to Shincheonji Church of Jesus (approx. 230,000 congregation members), Shincheonji Church of Jesus' 12 Tribes consists of departments for Seniors, Married Men, Married Women and Young Adults. The biggest department is Married Women (40.1%), followed by Young Adults (32.2%), Married Men (13.3%), Elders (4.4%), and Others (9.9%).
A representative of Shincheonji Church of Jesus explained, “In the last 5 years, the number of young adults has been increasing rapidly, and most of the graduates are young adults aged 20-30. This is because of the clear teachings of the Bible through the 5Ws and 1H. In particular, young adults have a greater desire for knowledge and for logical and rational understanding. Shincheonji Church of Jesus satisfies their curiosity in the Bible, helping them to construct a Biblical view. They are also satisfied with transparent financial reporting and a well-managed organization.”
One graduate from a family of three generations of pastors and a Christian video producer said, “My belief has been strengthened through systematic Bible study”
Catching graduation speech by two graduates
Mr. Aaron Kim, from a family of three generations of pastors and former missionary in Brazil, and Ms. Suji Choi, a former Christian video producer, gave speeches as graduate representatives.
During ‘Shincheonji Church of Jesus 100K Graduation Ceremony’, speeches by graduates with various testimonies caught all eyes and ears. The speakers were both Christians - one a former Christian video producer and another a missionary from Brazil from a family of three generations of pastors.
Ms. Suji Choi, Class 110 graduate, is a former Christian video producer who worked in a Christian broadcasting company until quite recently. Ms. Choi said “I was a diligent churchgoer in the established church and saw the reality of everything in the religious world as I worked in Christian broadcasting. I knew every video produced by Christian broadcasters and all the rumors on the internet about Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Nevertheless, I completed the Bible Study course and graduated, leaving behind all the slander about Shincheonji Church of Jesus because Shincheonji Church of Jesus is the only place where the word of life of God comes out.”
During her speech, Ms. Choi also told an anecdote about her creating a Youtube channel for Christians in the past. She said, “It was a channel that enabled young adult Christians to express their agonies and worries to pastors and creating a video of pastors' responses, but every pastor gave a different answer which made me so confused because I couldn’t find the answers. Moreover, even though their doctrines and denominations are so divided, they never consider this wrong, which was a very serious problem.”
Ms. Choi confessed, “Learning the prophecy of the Book of Revelation and the fulfilled reality of the Revealed Word testified at Shincheonji Church of Jesus was God's grace and love that quenched my thirst for the word and true faith.”
Mr. Aaron Kim, from a family of three generations of pastors and a former missionary in Brazil, reminisced, “I became a missionary because I believed I had to be a pastor like my father and grandfather. But I was so troubled. I was so plagued with guilt that I was not nurturing my congregation members with the word as I carried out my ministry, and it was so frustrating because even a seminary said ‘God’s will can’t be understood by anyone, so it is obvious that no one can know.’”
He also said that what was most poignant to him is “The fact I taught the Bible in the wrong way”, adding, “I believe that my father, who is a pastor, my loving family and everyone on
Mr. Kim has delivered the word that he learnt to more than 100 churchgoers in Brazil, and said that more than 100 churchgoers of a church in U.S. are now studying the Bible at Zion Mission Center. He said, “The amazing work of God is endless. My pastor, who was my colleague in Zion Mission Center, invited a lecturer from Shincheonji Church of Jesus to his church to teach the word. Today, this pastor and his church members are graduating together.”
